the odd bits

What can you say about a week that was bookended by sandals and mittens? Where a single layer was cloyingly hot and a hat and scarf weren’t nearly enough. Where spring rain nourished the garden and winds unleashed a violent edge. Well, I guess you could say it was anything but predictable. From summer-worthy humidity to bone chilling in a matter of days. We wanted the relief of iced lemonade and the reassurance of steaming tea. Crisp salads and piping hot soup. Refreshingly cold showers and near scorching baths. Open windows, a single sheet kicked off … and feather duvets pulled close. A lesson in surrendering to transitions.

Stay warm and cool, friends. I’ll see you on the other side of this holiday weekend! Toronto here I come. But before I leave, some snaps from the week gone by. X
