sunday slowly

My last day of holiday. Wishing I could freeze frame and just as curious about the weeks and months ahead. A sort of tentative excitement combined with the awareness that big changes often saturate me with fear. So many reasons to remain unchanged, to keep fear and uncertainty at bay. And many more reasons to confront risk and remind myself that taking action carries far less regret than remaining immobilized. MOVEMENT. That is my word for 2014: begin, create, narrate, nurture, release, forgive, embrace, unburden, simplify, make good things happen.

Putting away Christmas decorations, coffee, new and tender geranium shoots (!), my children’s voices over the telephone, their words on the screen, the reverence of a silent house, the snow falling almost imperceptibly, breakfast in the late afternoon, lists tumbling in my mind and landing on paper …

I hope your Sunday has given you something wonderful back.
